The terroir of Burgundy can be caracterised by a limy, chalky soil, that with its climatic feature are the ideal conditions for Chardonnays. Burgundy is famous for its legendary wine producing area of Chablis for the white. The Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Beaune area (also known as Côtes dOr) produce excellent Pinot Noir famous for their complexity and fullness.
